When I had a baby at my side and other children in the cradle, I was working 12 hour shifts cleaning floors and tear off wallpaper. Ha! The whole thing was beginning to come together but it wasn't quite finished. The project would require a lot of money effort as well as my favourite brands of furniture to furnish this home. My sons, my husband and I searched for hidden gems while attending estate sales in order to ensure that my spending was under control. It was our weekly routine of walking around auctions and garage sales on Saturday and Sunday as well as purchase various of old pieces and new constructed. My work days were spent in the driveway painting or sanding. My love for furniture repair began when I saw a style that was similar to this. It didn't matter if the house was already equipped. On the streets, I rented a small area and then sold a few pieces. In the end, I had numerous pieces that I did not know what to do and outgrew the space. My home was where I would host open houses in which more than 1000 guests could visit and buy any item they liked on the 1st floor in just one weekend. Growing Days is the result of all this. Growing Days was not only an incredibly successful business, but as well my family. It was a balance between starting a new business as well as being a mom. Growing Days just fit. It was in 2013 when my beautiful daughter Nora was born. She is our fourth kiddo. This was an excellent direction for my company, but I also needed an escape. I decided to slow down to spend time at home, with my family. The time was right. After a couple of months, my phone started to start to. There were calls from people asking me to help them with decorating their homes and interiors. Many of the people calling me came from people who attended one of the furniture open house events. I started taking on some customers one by one working at my own pace however it wasn't time before I was running multiple accounts and was running a complete home renovation business. Most likely, I would have laughed if someone had told me the company was to become the premise of an upcoming TV show that airs on the DIY Network. It's hilarious to look back to it.
