April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born July 4th, 1995. In the seventh grade she began to take piano and guitar lessons. This ignited her passion for songwriting. April's first song was Different. She wrote it when she was 12 years old. At the age of 14, April devoted much of her day singing and writing songs. She started writing songs alongside her father and her dad in NY and LA soon after. April started to include other subjects in her book Take My Hand to help her friends who were dealing with disabilities, peer pressure or even suicide. Lockhart also has an ever-growing following as a lifestyle influencer and is employed by the renowned clean beauty company Ilia. She was not born with a left hand, and that is why she's what she is. But that's far from the full story. So, Lockhart's Instagram profile does not shy away from her disability, but the focus isn't on it neither. What message is it sending? That we all contain multitudes and that we are all unique and that we're much beyond our physical bodies. Lockhart through a video message sent from her Nashville home, says I don't want this to define my character. I'm greater than the physical person I am. This doesn't interfere with my life. It's all normal, and I've learned how to adapt. It's also a part of me, and I believe that it is something to be talked about. Lockhart inspires us to keep moving forward with self-acceptance. However, she admits to going through periods that made her feel uncomfortable about her appearance, and the clothes with arms. She now wears whatever she'd like. and she shares her photos on social networks. Self-love, according to her, is like a journey. "I believe that you'll ever get in that place," she said. It's true for all regardless of levels of anxiety. The people around you with that truly understand you and see through your eyes are the most important people to help you remember what you're worried about.
